research!
hey guys, i have been looking into interesting ways to manipulate the fabric and found quite a few artists/sculptures that have used techniques to make the fabrics look really interesting.. i have also been looking into the different styles of drawing to use for making up the 'patterns' on the fabrics..
found some really lovely techniques and will now go on and try these for myself.
some of the x-ray style researchi found i thout I would mabey investigate this by useing the photocopy technique in the heat press..
but ye this is where I am at!
haven't really had a chance to look at shapes for the head piece itself thought I would see what olivia and stacy thought for that and so far everything that you guys have posted looks fab!
The thing about having colous for the 'ugly' side being all browns and blacks and greys..i feel like we do need to have some dark tones of reds/blues/moudly yellows in there...just so it links together .. when becki and i spoke to gemma the other day she said not to go for the ovbious 'manky' colours like brown/black etc..it makes it more interesting if we create our own? I hope that makes sense!!
hope everyone had a lovely halloween!!

i really like your idea of using colors besides brown and black. if we use lots of rich tones together, it would have a much deeper effect. and, from a bit of a distance, the colors would blend together and almost appear black. i'd almost say no black at all, because that might flatten what we've made. what are the possibilities for colors like that using the dyes that we have?
ReplyDeletethese images are gorgeous! it'd be interesting to replicate some of these patterns in prints.
the x-ray thing might be something interesting to try for the inside part of the headpiece. kind of like when the outside part comes off, we can see the insides of what it is, almost like an x-ray. if that makes sense.
